Chardonnay

This is another of Sparkle N Sprinkle's newest sets called Chianti, but I made it into Chardonnay instead.  I'm a white wine kind of person, even though I know red wine is better for you.  If you want to see all the possibilities for this stamp set, you'll have to check out the fabulous cards the rest of the Design Team at Sparkle N Sprinkle has come up with (click here).  I used my watercolor pencils since I'm still in the practicing stage with Copics (someday I will surprise you).  The picture in the center is from a set of digital scrapbooking papers by Silvia Romeo called Scenic Papers - Italy.  I love the subtle tones on this - reminds me of an old painting.  I left the sentiment off this card so that I can add that later for the appropriate occasion.  I think it could be used for almost any occasion.  The glitter on the edges of the card is Sparkle N Sprinkle's Gold Dust, which looks almost brown on this card.   It seems to add an elegance to the card.  Complete directions can be found at Sparkle N Sprinkle here.
Thanks for looking!

Violet Sabrewing Hummingbird

Always the teacher at heart, I couldn't do a hummingbird card without a little research!  Did you know there are over 50 varieties of hummingbirds in Costa Rica?  I didn't! And they are BEAUTIFUL!  This one especially caught my eye and so I tried to replicate it in Sparkle N Sprinkle's newest stamp set, Hummingbird Party.  It's called the Violet Sabrewing Hummmingbird and the combination of violets and blues is just amazing!
I stamped the image on Neenah Solar White cardstock using Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Moss embossing powder and colored with Twinkling H2O watercolors.  The sentiment is embossed with Moss Star embossing powder, also a brand new embossing powder that matches the Moss, but with a little glitter added.  You can see the shimmer on this card in the photo to the right.  The green layer is also embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Ice embossing powder over mint cardstock and picks up the shimmer in the watercolors. The effect of the Ice on mint green is totally different than on white cardstock!  The die I used was Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles. If you would like complete directions, you can find them on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website here.

Blossom

Had to take a short pause from my "fun" cards and re-stock my Sympathy cards.  It seems I can go a year without needing one sympathy card and then there is a run on them and I'm depleted within a week.   I've been wanting to use the Stampin Up Build a Blossom for a while now and finally had my chance. The possibilities are endless with this and I had a hard time with the details, but it finally came together.  Would love to make an all occasion set with this to give as gifts.  The colors on the blossom are Barely Banana and Summer Sun.  Will have to try some other combinations.  Thanks for looking!

Deco Diva Blog Hop - Love Is In The Air

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop - Deco Divas - Love Is In The Air!
If you have arrived here from Shona, you are in the right place.  If not, you might like to start from the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to become eligible for the four great prizes.  I know you will get some great inspirational ideas along the way.
My first card uses some non-traditional Valentine colors -  and Stamp Set #375 Cocktail Party.   What is a Diva without a gorgeous sparkly evening gown? The dress and oval background is done with Lacy Lilac and Pretty Princess glitter.  I left some white areas in the ruffles of the skirt to give the illusion of lace.    For complete directions, check out the gallery on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website here.

My second card is made with the Heart Cupcakes in the set Love is Sweet (#401).

I used two of my favorites from Sparkle N Sprinkle, Firecracker Red embossing powder and Sparkling Snow glitter.   A little bit of ribbon and some designer paper and you have a yummy looking Valentine! Complete directions can be found here.
Thanks for looking and don't forget to leave a comment to become eligible for a prize.  Now hop on over to Angie and see what great inspirations she has in store for you!

Candy Hearts

I just love candy hearts for Valentine's!  This stamp from Sparkle n Sprinkle's new stampette set Happy Hearts reminded me of those candy hearts and what better way to showcase the yummy embossing powders available at Sparkle N Sprinkle!  And THEN I found this great designer paper in my stash in pastel rainbow colors with little hearts!  Perfect!  It's from Paper Pizazz and I'm sure I got it on sale somewhere.  The paper roses (Shabby Chic) were in Michael's sale bins.  It's one of those cards where everything just falls into place and I couldn't wait to show it off! (Complete directions are on the SNS website here.)  Here's another view showing the embossing powders better:

Heart Wings #2

Here's another card made with Sparkle N Sprinkle's new stampette set Heart Wings.  This one uses three of the strips included in the set.  No, that is not designer paper in the background!  I layered three different lacy punched borders and then the chained hearts and XOXO in White Detail embossing powder on red and the "Kisses.." in Firecracker Red embossing powder on white.  The three heart embellishments were made with punched out hearts covered with Red Tomato tinsel glitter. (For complete directions go to the Sparkle N Sprinkle website here.)   I thought that no other sentiment or ribbon was necessary.

Don't forget, Sparkle N Sprinkle's blog hop "Deco Divas - Love is in the Air" is coming up Thursday!

Heart Wings

Happy New Year Everyone!  And here I am with a Valentine card - sometimes I think the holidays are just one big blur.  This card is made with Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Heart Wings stampette set. (Wait till you see all the new sets at SNS!) The hearts are embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Firecracker Red and Detail White embossing powders.  I love the Firecracker Red - it has just a touch of bling to it!  The designer paper is Bo Bunny and the ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon.  My two wonderful children got me a year's subscription to Really Reasonable Ribbon for Christmas - I can't wait to get the January package!  You can find the detailed instructions for this card on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website here.
Don't forget, Sparkle N Sprinkle has a blog hop coming up on the 19th and check out their Sketch challenge too!  See you soon with another great card and thanks for stopping by!
